Amanda has built a reputation as a knowledgeable, practical tax lawyer.  She enjoys getting to know her clients and working with them to meet their goals.  Amanda is approachable and prides herself on her ability to make complicated tax concepts understandable.  

Amanda's expertise includes corporate reorganizations, estate and business succession planning, post-mortem reorganizations, cross-border matters, registered charities and not-for-profits, and tax dispute resolution. She has vast experience working with family-owned and other closely-held businesses to assist with their unique needs relating to corporate, tax and succession planning. Amanda enjoys working collaboratively with her clients' other advisors, as well as with members of Robins Appleby's other practice areas, in order to achieve the best results for clients. 

Amanda joined Robins Appleby in 2018.  Prior to that, she practised tax law at a large national law firm, where she gained experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, capital markets transactions, executive compensation matters, cross border matters, registered charities and not-for-profits, and tax dispute resolution.

Amanda has a strong technical foundation in tax that she has built from her years in practice, as well as attending courses, including the three-year In-Depth Tax Course.  Amanda was an editor for a Canadian Tax Foundation publication for many years and has contributed articles to various tax publications.  She is an experienced speaker on tax topics and annually guest lectures at the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Outside of the office, Amanda loves to stay active, travel, and spend time outdoors with her family.
