Amelia Briggs-Morris B.Sc., B.A.H., M. Litt., J.D.

Bio

Amelia worked both as a summer student and an articling student at Robins Appleby, before joining the firm as an associate in the Commercial Real Estate and Development group. Amelia’s practice includes both commercial real estate and affordable housing.

Prior to law school, Amelia earned a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen’s University, where she received the Gold Medal in Classical Studies. Amelia then received her Master’s degree in Ancient History from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and her law degree from Dalhousie University. Amelia was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021.

Amelia is passionate about community initiatives. During law school, she was on the executive committee of the Community Outreach Society, which held fundraisers for local Halifax charities. Amelia also volunteered with the Elizabeth Fry Society working on their Prison Law Research Project, which helps to provide advocacy and research to women in conflict with the law. She also volunteered at Dalhousie Legal Aid working on their Tenants’ Right Project, which provides legal information to the public regarding landlord-tenant law in Nova Scotia.

Amelia was a competitive gymnast – she represented Canada at the Maccabiah Game in Israel in 2009. She was a varsity cheerleader at Queen’s University and member of the novice rowing team at the University of St. Andrews. Amelia also loves to live in different places; she has had the opportunity to study abroad in St. Andrews, Scotland; Cerveteri, Italy; and Belfast, Northern Ireland.
