Bio
Jennifer is known for being knowledgeable, attentive and caring. Practicing exclusively in the areas of estate planning, trusts, and estate administration, clients come to Jennifer for her ability to skillfully navigate challenging areas of estate and trust law while delivering advice that is comprehensive, practical, and tailored to their needs.
Jennifer’s services include wills (single and multiple), powers of attorney for property and personal care, and trusts (including alter ego trusts, Henson trusts, insurance trusts, spousal trusts, and cottage trusts). She advises clients on methods to minimize income tax and estate administration tax payable on death, and how best to structure their estate plan to avoid unnecessary cost and conflict.
Jennifer has experience with complex estate administration, for both large and small estates, including cross-border and multijurisdictional estates. She provides guidance to executors through all stages of the estate administration process, including probate applications, executors’ compensation, and estate accounting. Jennifer also advises executors, trustees, and attorneys (acting under power of attorney documents) with respect to their duties and obligations.
Jennifer has earned the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation from the international Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She is regularly invited to speak as a legal expert, including on the air for a popular talk radio station.
Jennifer was called to the bar in 2012. While in law school, she won multiple awards for academic excellence.
Outside of the office, Jennifer enjoys gardening and spending time with her family.
