Faye has developed an extensive and diverse experience in her tax practice that allows her to see issues from multiple levels and perspectives. Faye has experience with both planning and dispute resolution in multiple areas of domestic and international taxation, including transactional matters, estates, non-profit and charities.
Faye joined the tax group at Robins Appleby after practising at the Canada Revenue Agency ("CRA"), two multi-national Canadian law firms and a first tier New York Law Firm. At the CRA, she worked in both the Income Tax Rulings Directorate as an Industry Specialist and in audit as a National Avoidance Technical Advisor in the Abusive Tax Avoidance and Technical Support Division. In these capacities, Faye interacted directly with many government departments including the Department of Finance and the Department of Justice, whereby she provided strategic and technical support. This experience has given Faye unique insight into the CRA’s operations and enables her to skillfully navigate clients through all levels of CRA communications and disputes.
Faye has excellent communication skills and prides herself on her ability to distill complex legal and tax information for clients.
Faye holds a BSc in Pure Mathematics from the University of Western Ontario, a JD from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management. She has won numerous academic awards including the highest marks in Negotiations and Jurisprudence.
Outside of the office, Faye enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, singing (often off-key with her children), skiing (both snow and water) and white-water kayaking. She is a volunteer with and member of CJPAC’s first all womens group dedicated to political outreach.
