He has successfully represented his clients in disputes involving a wide range of issues including, real estate and condominiums, commercial transactions, corporate law, taxation, estates and trusts, and class actions. Other law firms and accounting firms regularly refer clients to Irving as counsel. His clients include large corporations and businesses (public and private), developers, financial institutions and other lenders, entrepreneurs, and individuals.

Irving's strategic approach and understanding of his clients' objectives enables him to quickly assess the strength of their case and give sound and trusted advice on the best strategy to effectively advance their interests. He has successfully conducted numerous trials, appeals, arbitrations, and mediations, including representing clients in many reported and precedent setting cases. Irving recognizes when a compromise or settlement will yield the best result for his clients.

Supported by an exceptional team of litigation lawyers, Irving also draws on the expertise of the firm's Business and Transactions, Commercial Real Estate and Development, and Tax groups to advance effective and creative arguments for the most complex cases, and to structure and implement complex settlement arrangements, such as corporate restructurings and division of estates.

In addition to representing clients in litigation, Irving acts as a Mediator/Arbitrator to assist parties to resolve their disputes. Irving uses his extensive experience as a litigator to identify fair, creative, and practical solutions to settle cases.
