David has extensive experience in business litigation where he represents commercial lenders, banks, insurance companies, entrepreneurial developers and builders, manufacturers, and major landlords. He is also an experienced class action litigator, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

David develops a strategy and direction at the outset of every engagement, helping clients make informed decisions and avoiding in-court litigation proceedings. David has successfully represented his clients at all levels of Court in Ontario including the Commercial List and the Court of Appeal. He also has considerable experience with commercial arbitrations and mediations.

His areas of expertise include commercial real estate, condominiums, shareholder, business and contract disputes, banking, receiverships, mortgage enforcement, commercial leasing, construction law, and lawyer’s negligence. 

David also focuses on estate litigation where his decades of business litigation experience give his clients a clear advantage. His in-depth understanding of both corporate law and estate/trust law allows him to chart a solid estate litigation strategy for bringing or defending will challenges or related claims.   

David has been a partner since 2000 and joined the firm in 1993. In addition to his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School, he holds an LL.M. from Duke University in Durham, N.C. David passed the California Bar Examination in 1992.

David has spoken at private and professional seminars on a variety of legal topics and has published articles in a variety of publications, Ontario Home Builder, Condo Business and Legal Pulse, to name a few. He has also been quoted in the Law Times.

In his spare time, David skis with his family in Collingwood and enjoys early morning cycling on the weekends.
